We Dont Have Your License — Firearms Licensing Board Tells Uhuru’s Son

The Firearms Licensing Board has requested that a case filed by the son of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, be dismissed.

The Board says in a preliminary objection that the application is premature and should be dismissed, saying that it did not impound his license.

According to the board, “The board has neither cancelled the applicant’s license nor impounded his firearm thus the allegations are apprehensive and speculative,”

Consequently, the Attorney General told the court that there are no orders sought against him and that the proceedings should be struck out.

“That the application forms a classical description of an abuse of the due process of the honourable court,” reads court papers.

The Attorney General has also sought to be removed from the proceedings as there are no orders sought against him.

The High court judge Jairus Ngaa has extended the orders barring the Firearm Licencing Board and the Attorney General from demanding his license without following the due process set out in the Firearms Act.

Jomo had moved to court challenging the State’s move to revoke his firearm license, saying it is valid up to April 2024.
