Uhuru Meets Members Of The African Union Election Observers Mission (AUEOM)

    The Head of the African Union Election Observers Mission (AUEOM), former Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday joined other approved election observer missions as Nigerians prepare to participate in the Presidential and National Assembly elections on 25th February 2023.

    Kenyatta attended a briefing by the African Union (AU) commissioner of Political Affairs, Peace, and Security, Amb. Bankole Adeoye on the African Union election observation methodology and deployment.

    The two leaders then paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Geoffery Onyeama.

    The AUEOM team later addressed members of the fourth estate where H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta expressed optimism in Nigeria’s commitment to democracy during the polls, sentiments that were echoed by the mission members.

    The Head of AUEOM is expected to engage with key election stakeholders in Nigeria as the country prepares for the ballot.
