Prominent Kiswahili author and former journalist Ken Walibora is dead at the age of 56.
The author is said to have succumbed to injuries following an accident at Nairobi’s Landhies Road.
Walibora, who is popularly known for his debut novel Siku Njema, was until January 2017 the Kiswahili quality manager at the Nation Media Group.
President Kenyatta condoled with the family of celebrated Kenyan Kiswahili scholar, author & journalist Prof Ken Walibora.
The President described the late Walibora as a polished broadcaster and prolific writer whose literary works will continue to inspire future generations.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga eulogised the writer as a “..Distinguished Journalist who penned great literary works that will remain etched in the memories of many.”
The incident comes slightly over a month since another Nation Media staffer was knocked down by a matatu on his way to work.
