Uhuru Places Security Agencies On Red Alert

President Uhuru Kenyatta has placed security agencies on red alert over the conflict in Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia.

In a communique signed by State House spokesperson Kanze Dena, Uhuru ordered a crackdown along the common borders to ensure the security of Kenyans.

Kenya is involved in a maritime boundary dispute with Somalia, faces an influx of illegal arms from warring Ethiopian clans and the traditional Alshabab threat.

He was speaking after meeting the National Security Advisory Council, the organ that analyses threats to Kenya’s sovereignty.

The Council consists of KDF Chief of Defence Forces Robert Kibochi, the NIS Director General Major Gen Kameru, the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, and Service Commanders of the Kenya Navy, Kenya Army, and Kenya Airforce.

There is also the threat emanating from Samburu which has claimed the lives of close to 14 security men.
