Devolution Permanent Secretary Julius Kiplagat Korir has been given 30 days to fulfill terms of settlement in his assault case filed by his wife.
The respondent’s counsel moved to the court with an application for 30 days seeking the court to grant the accused person the said days to settle the matter out of court.
However the prosecution objected to the application requesting the court to grant 14 days instead.
A prayer strongly attacked by the defense counsel claiming 14 days won’t be enough given the seriousness of the matter.
The Milimani presiding chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi directed that the defense counsel can have the 30 days requested to put their house in order.
Further, the magistrate said that the accused person should take plea upon the 30 days expiry.
PS Julius Kirui is accused of assaulting his estranged ex wife.
