Uhuru To Open DCI’s Forensic Laboratory On Monday

President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to open the Directorate of Criminal Investigations National Forensic Laboratory tomorrow, Monday, June 13, marking another milestone in efforts to solve many pending criminal cases.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the Forensic Laboratory is a world-class facility comparable to any in the developed world and other established investigative institutions.

“It will enhance our capacity to apply modern investigative techniques and cutting edge science to law enforcement,” the NPS stated.

The Sh4 billion forensic laboratory on Kiambu Road in Nairobi is one of the legacy projects the President is expected to commission before leaving office after the elections.

The president was supposed to launch the lab on February 28, 2022, but the ceremony was postponed after the Head of State got other engagements.
