President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Wednesday tour infrastructure turnkey projects in Kenya. The president, accompanied by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.
Dr. Abiy Ahmed will inspect the One-Stop Border Post at Moyale, which serves both countries. A dispatch by Kanze Dena- Mararo, the spokesperson for State House says the President will tour Coast Province.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will receive Dr Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Moyale, Marsabit County at the start of the Ethiopian leader’s two-day official visit to Kenya.
In Moyale, President Kenyatta and Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed will tour and officially open the Moyale One Stop Border Post (OSBP).
On the same day, the two leaders will visit Lamu County where they will inspect the ongoing construction of the new Lamu Port, an anchor project of the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport (LAPSSET).
The President has been very keen on ensuring infrastructure projects are delivered in time, to spur economic growth.
Since his election as Kenya’s 4th President, Uhuru has constructed more kilometers of roads than his three predecessors combined.
The road projects have opened up North Eastern counties such as Marsabit, Garissa and Mandera Counties. Mombasa Port Improvement Projects have also been constructed.
The icing on the cake is the construction of the first Likoni foot bridge. The bridge has been constructed by the China Road and Bridge Construction Company(CRBC).
The Dongo Kundu by pass has also been constructed, so has the Dongo Kundu -Mwanze to Mteza Road, which has opened up a link road between Kwale and Mombasa.
