Jakoyo Midiwo, the man who once claimed Raila’s live was in danger is dead. Midiwo, former Gem MP and owner of Golden Spot in Kilimani died today.
Details of his illness are scanty. But he has been on a financial low since he lost his seat in 2017. He famously nicknamed Raila Jakom, a title which has stuck to date.
He is a cousin to the ODM leader and one of the fiercest defenders of the Raila Odings Gospel in Luo Nyanza. As the deputy Minority leader in Parliament between 2013 and 2017, Midiwo established closer links with the Uhuruto Goverment.
Together with the Minority leader Francis Nyenze, Midiwo was a,frequent visitor at,State House, accompanied by Majority leader Aden Duale and Speaker Justin Muturi.
The cosy relationship with Jubillee cost him his privilege at Raila’s Court. This led to his ouster. He has since never been appointed to any parastatal like other ODM election lovers and Raila confidants.
