UK television productions had a triumphant night at the International Emmy Awards, with the drama Rivals and the comedy Ludwig winning two of the ceremony’s top honors.
The wins underscored a broader sweep for British programming. Rivals, a Disney+ adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s scandal-filled novel, won Best Drama. The detective comedy Ludwig, starring David Mitchell, took home the award for Best Comedy.
The UK’s success extended across multiple categories:
- Anna Maxwell-Martin won Best Actress for ITV’s true-crime drama Until I Kill You.
- BBC Two’s Hell Jumper won Best Documentary for its frontline reporting from Ukraine.
- Channel 4’s Dispatches won in Current Affairs for its Gaza coverage.
- BBC’s Lost Boys and Fairies won the TV Movie/Mini-Series award.
Other international winners included Spain’s Yo, Adicto for Best Actor and the globally beloved Australian children’s show Bluey for animation. The strong showing by UK productions highlights their continued global influence and critical acclaim.
