Ukraine’s air force reported on Tuesday that Russia launched one of its largest aerial assaults this month, unleashing 270 drones and 10 missiles overnight.
According to the military, Ukrainian air defences intercepted 230 of the drones and six of the missiles, while the remaining projectiles struck 16 locations across the country. Four missiles and 40 drones managed to hit their targets, causing damage that authorities are still assessing.
The barrage underscores the intensity of Russia’s ongoing campaign against Ukrainian infrastructure and urban centres, which has seen frequent use of drones and missiles to exhaust Kyiv’s air defences.
Ukrainian officials did not immediately provide details on casualties or the extent of damage from the overnight strikes.
The attack comes amid heightened fighting along the frontlines and ahead of anticipated international discussions on continued military support for Kyiv.
