Three people have been arraigned on charges of spiking the drink of an Umoja resident and stealing from him.
The three; George Kinuthia Kamau, Virginia Wangui Thiga and Njeru Muchiri were accused of administering salicylates, a stupefying drug to Bernard Cheruiyot Chirchir.
The incident is reported to have occurred on May 29,2021 at Rystas Guest House in Umoja Estate within Nairobi County.
The three further faced charges of infringing security measures at Equity Bank with intent to gain access to commit the further offence.
They were also charged with computer fraud contrary for stealing Ksh 869,800 by effecting mobile money transfer in the name of Bernard Cheruiyot.
Further, they were charged with stealing where on May 29, 2021, the three with others at large, stole one Huawei Y9 mobile phone, one Equity ATM card, a National Identity card and Cash money Kes 200,000, the property of Bernard Cheruiyot.
The three are out on bond awaiting the hearing and determination of their case.
