UN Report Urges Action on Alleged Genocide Against Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank

The United Nations has released a report condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank as part of an alleged genocidal strategy aimed at dismantling Palestinian society.

The report, published by Francesca Albanese, the U.N. Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, accuses Israel of escalating efforts to displace and eliminate Palestinians, echoing the 1948 Nakba events but “on a more severe scale.”

Albanese’s report, titled Genocide as Colonial Erasure, demands international action, urging an arms embargo and sanctions on Israel until a ceasefire and withdrawal from occupied Palestinian territories are implemented.

The report identifies widespread displacement, targeting of civilians, and systematic destruction of infrastructure as indicators of genocidal intent.

Albanese calls for the suspension of Israel’s U.N. membership and recognition of Israel as an apartheid state, should these actions continue.

The report describes current conditions in Gaza, including prolonged blockades, attacks on critical infrastructure, and humanitarian crises affecting over 400,000 people.

Amid rising casualties, it urges the reactivation of the UN Special Committee Against Apartheid to address the human rights situation in Palestine.
