University Lecturer Charged With Distributing Child Pornographic Videos, Photos

A 64-year-old St Paul’s university lecturer is on trial after being accused of distributing child pornographic videos and photos.

Today, the Director of Criminal Investigations presented before Milimani Law court in Nairobi 14 nude photos and a video of underage children who had been sexually abused by the lecturer.

Officer Wyliffe Jefwa attached at DCI headquarters Children Rights unit produced in court the phonographic evidence against Joseph William Black JR, a St Paul’s University lecturer.

The officer told Senior Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondieki that he arrested William at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport as he attempted to flee the country.

According to the officer, Willam was circulating the phonographic images of the 14 children aged between 3 and 15 on Skype and Microsoft accounts online against their will.

The officer further told the Court that the pornographic images and a video of unknown Caucasian children were retrieved from his laptop.

The court heard that the lecturer was arrested after an intelligence report over his involvement of circulating the phonographic images and video at October 20, 2020, and August 20, 2021, at Bishop Makarios Seminary Riruta satellite in Nairobi.

“We took action following intelligence report our office received that one USA citizen who resides in Kenya was involved in child pornography back in his US home, ” the magistrate held.

Jefwa informed the court that the said pornographic materials were recovered at the lecturer at Bishop Makarios Seminary Riruta satellite were he used to reside.

“However during the time of search Joseph William Black was located in Kenya where he resides in a seminary and it was suspected that he would be abusing other boys” the court.

The officer revealed that Willam is also a wanted man in the US to face similar charges of pornography and cybercrime.
