Four University students were arraigned in Court and charged with aiding exam cheating in the ongoing KCSE exams.
Gideon Kibet Tonui from Baringo Technical University was charged alongside Kelvin Kiprotich Langat, Justus Kimurgor Leting and James Sum Obong’o all from Rongo University.
The prosecution submitted that the four students were found in possession of examination papers in their mobile phones. The papers are said to have contained contents of the year 2021 KCPE and KCSE.
Appearing before Magistrate Shikwe of Milimani Law Courts, the four students denied charges and pleaded with the Court to release them on a reasonable bond and bail terms.
However, the court released the four with a bond of Ksh 500,000 or a cash bail of Ksh 300,000.
The case will be mentioned on April 12, 2022 for pretrial.
