Mr. Mohamed Amin, Director of Criminal Investigations, met with Neil Walsh, Regional Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), who paid him a courtesy call at his Mazingira complex offices.
The visit comes shortly after the Director took office and promised to implement far-reaching reforms to ensure that the Directorate is responsive to Kenyans’ security needs.
During the meeting, the two discussed potential techniques that will benefit regional peace, security, human rights, and development, as well as making the world safer from ever-changing forms of crime.
The UNODC representative, who was accompanied by an entourage from his office, went on to say that the UN body would seek to collaborate with DCI on crime prevention, organized crime, drugs, and substance abuse.
The Director, for his part, expressed a desire to collaborate with UNODC on mutual areas of interest, such as capacity building.
He also emphasized the importance of ensuring the criminal justice system’s effectiveness in delivering justice quickly.
