A husband stabbed and killed his wife in Naivasha, following a misunderstanding over an undisclosed matter.

Following the heinous crime, the husband turned the murder weapon on himself in an attempt to take his own life.

The heartbreaking incident happened at Club 8 in Mai Mahiu. 

The deceased, identified as Veronica Wanjiru, had just arrived at the entertainment joint where she worked as a cleaner when she died.

Witnesses say the husband had arrived hours earlier and requested that they settle their disagreements from the previous night.

According to the bar owner, Veronica was cleaning the premises when her husband walked in and pleaded with her to settle their differences and accept their reconciliation, but a seemingly unamused Veronica would have none of it.

When the husband realized that his wife was no longer interested in him, he reached for a knife hidden in his pockets and stabbed her several times in the neck, killing her instantly.

He then turned the knife to himself and in a powerful thrust immersed it in his ribs in a bid to kill himself.

Nonetheless, he survived the self-inflicted injury and is currently admitted at Hospital in critical condition.

Detectives based at Naivasha have launched a manhunt of the suspect.
