Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has been discharged from Karen Hospital after a four-day treatment following injuries sustained after he was attacked by a group of goons.
In a statement shared on his social media handles on Saturday, April 11, 2026, the senator thanked Kenyans for supporting him through prayers and quick recovery messages and told them that he is now stepping out of the hospital, which has been his home for the past few days.
This comes days after he was attacked by a group of about 20 people who, according to him, upon entering Acacia Restaurant, where he from time to time goes to have a meal, first began calling his name, not knowing that they were about to harm him. At that point, according to Osotsi, he had sent his security personnel to get money from M-Pesa.
After the attack that left him writhing in pain and agony, he was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital, where he was stabilised before being airlifted to Nairobi for specialised treatment at Karen Hospital, where he has been receiving care for the past four days.
Earlier, amid claims linking his attack to a love triangle, he came out to dismiss the allegations, giving details of the lady he was with at the time of the attack. According to Osotsi, the lady was one of his staff members, whom he identified as Jennifer. He added that the lady is also well known by people around him.
After his attack, several leaders came out to condemn the incident involving their fellow politician. The first to condemn this was Siaya Governor James Orengo, who said it was a state plan to silence dissent.
Three people have so far been arrested and arraigned in court, with investigators seeking to have them remanded for seven days as they continue gathering more evidence.
This comes ahead of the Linda Mwananchi rally in Nakuru Town, which will be spearheaded by the Linda Mwananchi team leader Edwin Sifuna. Osotsi has vowed that despite being under the weather following his injuries, he will attend, adding that the mission to make President William Ruto a one-term president is still on.
