Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria has dismissed the 2022 ‘two-horse’ race, saying he will beat Raila Odinga and William Ruto in the general election.
“If these two are horses, does it mean that we are cows and that’s why we can’t be recognized?” Wa Iria questioned.
The governor stated that he is not in the race to test the waters, but counts on Mount Kenya to deliver State House to him.
“If I receive the eight million votes from the region, it will be enough to elect me to the State House, and no other candidate will be able to achieve such numbers,” he stated.
He claims that the majority of governors support his candidacy for defending devolution during his time as vice-chair of the Council of Governors.
Iria will run on the Usawa kwa Wote Party to take his first stab at the Presidency.
