Aspiring governor Nzioka Waita has hit out at his competitors for the top seat, over what he terms as lack of ideas to improve Machakos county.

Speaking during an interactive session with Syokimau residents, the former Chief of Staff accused his challengers of clueless politics that will not benefit voters.

“Those leaders who who have chosen me as an agenda for their camapaign are cowards who do not have a clue on what service they have to offer. Machakos electorates should beware of such politicians who dont have an agenda.”

While outlining his ideas on how the county will transform under his leadership, Mr. Nzioka Waita identified poor planning, corruption and laxity as urgent challenges that needed to be addressed.

“Zoning and planning in this county is a mess as a result of shortcuts taken by fraudulent county employees. My government will deal with these investors because a good number of them have not complied with planning requirements.”

He promised to address the burden of pollution, poor state of roads, lack of ECDE centers and water shortage in his first year at the County.

The technocract with vast experience in the private sector as well as the public sector, is in competition with veteran politician Wavinya Ndeti, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, former Senator Johnstone Muthama, Assembly Speaker Florence Mwangangi, Deputy Governor Francis Maliti among others.
