Nzioka Waita, the Chief of Staff at the State House, has vowed to defend his gubernatorial ambition in Machakos.
According to Nzioka, certain Ukambani leaders have approached him and asked him to put his ambitions on hold so that experienced politicians can contest for the governorship.
Waita was speaking at a Sunday service at ABC Kyaani in Mitaboni Machakos County, where he exhorted the faithful to register as voters as the election process neared its end.Â
He promised to boost the county’s economic growth while also asking the youth to be at the forefront of advocating for great leadership.
On February 9, Waita is scheduled to tender his resignation to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He is expected to launch his presidential bid in Machakos County.
