Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has stated that he was once disqualified from running for a parliamentary seat in Tottenham, England.
In an interview with NTV, Wajackoyah stated that he was eliminated because he was not married.
He explained that at the primary level, after filling out a questionnaire, he skipped the married section because he was not legally married.
Wajackoyah said they had children, but they were yet to officiate the marriage.
“I have stood for elections in the UK. I was told you are not enough. You are not ripe enough to be a member of parliament for Tottenham because we have checked in this list that you have children but no wife,” Wajackoyah said.
According to the lawyer, he did not try to justify himself by claiming that he was married and decided to abandon his ambition.
After declaring his presidential candidacy, the Roots Party presidential candidate has created quite a stir in Kenya.
He has stated that he will legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes as well as venture into snake farming to generate more revenue for the country.
Wajackoyah has named Justina Wambui Wamae as his running mate for the country’s top office.
Wajackoyah will face off against Raila Odinga (Azimio Coalition Political Party), William Ruto (United Democratic Alliance-UDA), and David Mwaure Waihiga (Azimio Coalition Political Party) (Agano Party).
