Wajir Huduma Center Manager Goes Missing For 5 Days; Family in Fear

The family of Hussein Abdirahman Mohamed, the Huduma Centre Manager in Wajir, has been living in torment since he mysteriously disappeared five days ago. No communication. No clue. No trace.

During a tearful press briefing held Saturday in Wajir town, Sheikh Abdiwahab Osman, a close relative, described Hussein’s disappearance as both “out of character” and “deeply distressing.”

“Hussein left for work and never returned. His phone has been off since. We are desperate. We want answers,” said Sheikh Osman.

Known for his integrity, calm demeanor, and strong work ethic, Hussein was a respected civil servant who headed the Wajir Huduma Centre — a critical government facility serving hundreds of residents daily.

The case has sparked concern across the region, with Wagberi MCA Aden Abdi Bulle demanding urgent intervention from security agencies.

“Hussein heads a government office. The DCI, NIS, police — all of them must swing into action. We won’t rest until he is found,” Bulle said.

The family filed a missing person’s report days ago, but say they have received no updates from authorities.

Hussein’s disappearance adds to growing concerns over security and the protection of civil servants in Kenya’s northern frontier.
Residents are now demanding answers, action, and accountability from national security organs.
