Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has revealed a secret deal he offered in order to shelve his governor ambitions for Wavinya Ndeti.
While attending a rally, Hon. Makau laid bare a Ksh. 7.5Billion handshake with his distant cousin, which will be used to fund projects in Mavoko area of Machakos county.
“My deal with Wavinya was that fifty per cent of the county government will be mine.” He said.
The Mavoko MP says the handshake deal will enable him to complete projects including roads and other infrastructure.
“If the county is budgeting Ksh. 1 billion for road construction, then Mavoko will benefit from Ksh. 500 million. That was the agreement we had.”
Hon. Makau, a key member of the Wiper Democratic movement, ceded ground for Wavinya Ndeti after lengthy consultations with party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
He has since reverted to defending his seat as the Mavoko MP.
Wavinya Ndeti is battling out with former State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita (CCU Party), Deputy Governor Francis Maliti (Maendeleo Chap Chap), and UDA’s Johnson Muthama.
