Machakos Governor Aspirant Wavinya Ndeti is set to appear before a court of law to defend his degree, masters certificates.
Gideon Ngewa Kenya, and Kisilu Mutisya, who are Wiper party members have challenged the authenticity of her certificates which they believe were wrongly acquired from international universities.
“On 4* June 2022, the Machakos County Returning Officer cleared Hon. Wavinya Ndeti to run for the gubernatorial candidate for the Wiper Democratic Movement Party in the 9th August 2022 elections despite a complaint having been lodging against the said clearance on 23’d May 2022.”

The complainant noted among others, challenged the authencity of one City University, London, Computing Studies degree.
“The degree in Computing Studies awarded by South Bank University to Hon. Wavinya Ndeti raises a number of issues. First of all, the title of the degree is extremely uncommon, to a point where it does not feature online as a course. The Complainants aver that Computer Science is the universal course title for this field of study. Indeed, the Graduate Diploma awarded to Hon. Wavinya Ndeti by South Bank Polytechnic London some five years earlier in 1990, was for Computer Science. It is very unlikely that the University would have changed the degree title to Computing Studies in a span of 5 years.”
The complainants cited the cases as gross errors as the governor, once elected would not budget for the billions that Machakos county recieves.
“The Complainants aver that according to Article 179 (4) of the Constitution, Hon. Wavinya Ndeti as a governor will be tasked with direct management of massive public resources which require intense skills and qualification- which she lacks in this instance.”
Wavinya Ndeti has been entangled in battles over the legality of her university qualifications.
In 2017, she was barred from the Governor race, over her credentials, a case she won in a landmark ruling.
She is in competition with her arch rival Nzioka Waita, and former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama as well as Eng. Francis Maliti, the Deputy Governor.
