IEBC Disputes Resolution Tribunal adjourns Judgement for the petition challenging Wavinya Ndeti’s Nomination at the last minute.
The Machakos County Gubernatorial aspirant was challenged before the electoral commission on the basis of academic incompetency to hold the office of governor for Machakos County.
According to the petitioner, the County returning officer for Machakos County errored in fact and Law by clearing Wavinya Ndeti to vie for the Machakos top political seat. The basis for his allegations are that Wavinya does not possess a valid degree as required by the law and the said aspirant fails the constitutional test.
The IEBC Disputes Resolution Tribunal heard that Wavinya proceeded to pursue Masters degree after attaining a diploma in Computer Science which according the petitioner is impractical since the minimum requirement for Masters is a Bachelors degree.
The Tribunal has slated to render its judgment on Saturday at 6:00 pm but ended up adjourning to Sunday at noon under unclear circumstances.
