According to an alert written by Kennedy Thiong’o on behalf of the Director of the Kenya Meteorological Department, the heavy rain that has impacted numerous regions of the country is anticipated to intensify as the country enters the weekend.

Rains will strengthen across the Northeastern and Central Highlands of the country beginning Friday, according to Thiong’o, and are predicted to spread to numerous sections of the Northeastern, Central Highlands, and South Coast.

According to the weatherman, the rains will be accompanied by strong winds, and flood waters may appear in areas where it has not rained heavily, particularly downstream.

The advisory was sent to the Environment Secretaries and Principal Secretaries, the Presidency, the National Intelligence Service, the Kenya Red Cross, the Kenya Maritime Authority, and the Kenya Ports Authority.

The National Disaster Operations Centre, the National Disaster Management Unit, the media, relevant government ministries, the Council of Governors, and county directors of meteorological services (CDMs) are among the others.
