West Ham had an early penalty ruled out by VAR but they took the lead five minutes before halftime.

Jesse Lingard, former Manchester United player, seemed to be moving through the field very skillfully with the ball. In their game against Aston Villa earlier this month, Lingard netted 2 goals. It’s safe to say he’s back in form.

“Jesse’s ability has always been there. He is a talented footballer and we knew je could give us something different in the final third. We needed s few more attacking aspectd to our game and he has done very well,” said Moyes.

After a 20 game winless run in the Premier League, Chris Wilder’s side had won three of their last six games in the competition.

On Monday, they could not keep up with Moyes’ boys on the field. Their efforts seemed to go unrewarded. Declan Rice scored a penalty, before Issa Diop scored a second one a few minutes after halftime. The third and last goal came in from Ryan Fredericks during injury time.

“At this level you can’t make it easy for the opposition. We gift-wrapped two goals. If we continue to make the mistakes we did tonight, there is no chance for us,” said Chris Wilder.
