The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested Hon. Alfred Wafula Weswa, Former Majority Leader, Trans-Nzoia County Assembly.
The Sirende ward MCA was arraigned before the Kitale Anti-Corruption Court, where he was charged with abuse of office and conflict of interest.Â
According to the courts, when Hon. Weswa was a member of the County Assembly Board, he took part in the interview and hiring of his daughter without disclosing any conflicts of interest.
He pleaded not guilty to all four counts and was released on a Ksh. 300,000 bond, or a Ksh. 100,000 bond.
The case will be mentioned on December 2022.
