Hotel tourism sector in Western Region has recovered by 80 percent from the negative defects of Covid -19.
The sector is expected to recover fully by the end of this year.
Lake Victoria Tourism Association Chairperson Robinson Anyal has said some businesses have surpassed the percentage while others are towards it.
Anyal has expressed his satisfaction as at how the sector is coming up while noting the issue of hotel capacity is long gone.
“Back then we had issues with capacity. We have quite good number of high end hotels.
I can also confirm that right now ,you look at the back yard in a small centre or town you will find a resort,you will find a small medium size hotel set up there”, he said.
He is expecting good returns in the sector and is hoping the growth of economy
