Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi Announces Bid For Nairobi Governor’s Seat

Westlands Member of Parliament (MP), Tim Wanyonyi, has launched the newly tarmacked Gichagi Village Inn Road in the Mountain View area of Westlands.

The tarmacking of road was done by the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KenRRA) under the auspices of the Constituency Roads Board and included the installation of a 600mm diameter culvert at the Thiongo Road junction.

Additionally, stormwater pipes were installed, running from Thiongo Road to Watiti River, with the aim of improving the drainage system along the road and addressing persistent drainage issues.

During the inauguration at Village Inn, MP Wanyonyi also sent a clear message to Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, as he kick-started his gubernatorial campaign for the 2027 elections.

Wanyonyi expressed his confidence in becoming the next Nairobi Governor, emphasizing that his previous bid was merely on hold.

He rallied support from the residents with his familiar slogan: ‘Si Mimi, Ni Sisi‘ (translated as “It’s not just about me, it’s about us”), highlighting that his aspiration to become governor is a collective effort led by the people.

“We are coming like a tsunami. We will sweep them aside and claim victory,” he declared, rallying the community behind his gubernatorial aspirations.
