Wetangula Leads Parliament Mourns in Mourning Deputy HR Director

Parliament is in mourning following the passing of Mr. Maasai Lekipaika, the Deputy Director of Human Resource Services at the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC), whose death was announced on Wednesday.

In a heartfelt condolence message, National Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Moses Wetang’ula eulogized Lekipaika as a “distinguished public servant” whose contributions to education and human resource management spanned nearly three decades.

Mr. Lekipaika began his career as a high school teacher and principal, later serving as Senior Principal Administrative Officer at the Teachers Service Commission from 1994 to 2007.

“He mentored colleagues, fostered a culture of professionalism and service excellence, and was deeply committed to staff welfare,” said Wetang’ula, adding that Lekipaika was widely respected for his discipline, calm demeanor, and institutional insight.

The Speaker conveyed his condolences to the family, friends, and parliamentary staff who were impacted by Lekipaika’s leadership and service.

“May the Almighty grant his soul eternal rest,” he concluded.

Mr. Lekipaika leaves behind a legacy of dedication, mentorship, and integrity within Kenya’s public service.
