English Premier League leaders Arsenal travels to the King Power Stadium today to face Leicester City in one of five matches scheduled for Saturday.
The Gunners will be looking to extend their two-point lead over second-placed Manchester City, who faces Bournemouth in the day’s final match. The Gunners have recently dominated the head-to-head series with Leicester.
They have won the last four meetings between the two teams, outscoring Leicester 11-3. Arsenal has 20 wins to Leicester’s five in 33 Premier League meetings, with eight draws.
Arsenal, who last won the Premier League title 18 years ago, came from behind to defeat Aston Villa 4-2 at the Emirates, while Leicester ware humiliated 3-0 by a rampant Manchester United side. Mikel Arteta’s team has won all three games at the King Power Stadium.
With a win over Bournemouth, Manchester City will look to keep pace with Arsenal. City failed to put Nottingham Forest to the sword, drawing 1-1 the previous time.
Bournemouth has had a week to prepare for this match and will likely cause problems for the City defense.
Defending champions City must recover from their champions league exploits against RB Leipzig in midweek.
The score was 1-1 at the end of the game.
Erling Haaland is expected to score if he receives the proper service. Kevin De Bruyne, who was rested against Leipzig, is expected to start.
On Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur will host rival Chelsea in the London derby. The Blues have won just twice in their last 14 games, and manager Graham Potter is under fire.
Last Weekend’s 1-0 surprise loss to strugglers Southampton only heightened the call from the fanbase for the former Brighton Manager to be axed. Worryingly for the Blues, their expensively assembled attack under owner Todd Boehly is not scoring goals.
Both sides mastered a 2-2 all-draw at Stamford Bridge in the first leg but on current form, Spurs are favorites if their three wins and two losses in five matches is any barometer.
Manchester United is not in EPL action. Erick Ten Hag’s men play Newcastle in the final of the Carabao Cup at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
United is looking for its first title in almost six years. They last won the Europa League trophy in 2017 under Jose Mourinho. Newcastle’s last trophy was the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (which eventually became the Europa League) in 1969.
