The beta updates for WhatsApp on iOS and Android allows sending of high-quality (HD) photos while preserving their original dimensions.

Although the rollout is currently limited to beta testers, it is expected to reach a wider audience eventually.
The recent WhatsApp beta updates, iOS 23.11.0.76 and Android 2.23.12.13, include a new option for managing photo quality.
Users can now choose to send photos in higher quality by selecting the “HD” option when sharing images.
It’s important to note that while the photo’s dimensions are preserved, light compression is still applied to the image.
This ensures efficient transmission while maintaining a noticeable improvement in visual quality.
