WABetaInfo has revealed that they have discovered an upcoming change to WhatsApp that will allow users to completely hide their online status.
Right now, hiding your last seen status only hides your last seen status, and when you’re online, it shows that you’re online.
But according to their discovery, WhatsApp will be adding a new feature that will mimic your last seen options but for your online status.
This means that if you opted to allow no one to see your last seen status, your online status will also be hidden, meaning that no one will know you’re online until you actually reply a message.
As usual, this is a tit-for-tat kind of feature meaning that if you hide your last seen and online status, then you won’t be able to see other users’ statuses either, which we suppose is fair.
