Why Ex-Governor Okoth Obado’s Murder Trial Has Been Adjourned Again

The hearing of the murder case against former Migori Governor Okoth Obado, his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and clerk Caspal Obiero has been postponed to May 6, 2024.

This is after the court was told that Caspal Obiero is bereaved.

The court was told that Caspal lost his wife and children in a road accident in March and the family is yet to bury the deceased.

The hearing was slated for this week but Caspal through his lawyers informed the court that he was unable to attend today’s proceedings and urged the court to give him time to allow him go on with the funerals arrangements.

In the case, Obado, his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and clerk Caspal Obiero are on trial over the murder of Rongo University Student, Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby on September 3 2018 at Homa Bay County.

Results of a DNA test conducted on the foetus showed that Obado was the father of Sharon’s unborn child.
