Will smith recently reconciled with his former fresh prince of Bel-Air costar Janet Hubert. Janet Hubert used to play the original Aunt Viv in the American sitcom but he actress quit her role after filming season three to personal reasons. She was later replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid from 1993 to 1996 when the final series aired. will and Janet seemingly fell out when Janet called will smith ‘egomaniac ‘ blamed Will for her exist and claimed that will had used his growing fame to have her replaced
The duo decided to discuss their issues on the red table takeover special. Janet honestly told him “I hated what you did I just hated what you did. You took my career of 30 something years and went too far when you were younger and I know you always had to win.
Will admitted to having going far and said things to people that wouldn’t know how to handle that information and then once you put it the machine grabs out then they start putting their own spin on it which led to Janet saying their beef lasted 30 years and also said the situation felt like a 30 year sentence, proving that she wanted to draw the line under the stress, I am so tired from all this.
She also said that not being in good terms with Will led to her son being bullied.
Recently during the special reunion on HBO max where Janet told will the reason for her quitting was that she was pregnant and in an abusive marriage .when they began filming for the third season she also stressed that she was not fired from the sitcom show.
“When I left the show I had this new baby and no one family disowned me. They said “you have ruined our name “and that I was being unprofessional on the set and I didn’t know who trust because I have been banished and that it was you who did it.
