Ruto: Hustler Fertilizer To Be Sold At 2,500

William Ruto, the Deputy President of Kenya has now stated that if elected, he will lower fertilizer prices in order to revitalize the agricultural sector.

Speaking on Sunday in Kitale, Trans-Nzoia County, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance flag-bearer said his government will help farmers by lowering the cost of farm inputs like fertilizer, which has skyrocketed in recent months.

“We will drop the price of fertiliser will drop from this ksh.6,000 to the one we used to buy of 2,500. That will be the price of fertilizer going forward beginning this year.” he said

Other leaders who flanked Ruto, included ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, FORD-Kenya principal Moses Wetang’ula, Speakers Justin Muturi, Ken Lusaka, and others.

Because of the continued tensions between Russia and Ukraine, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya warned in early March that fertilizer prices will likely rise to about Ksh.7,000 for a 50kg bag.

Kenya imports fertilizer from Russia and China, according to the CS, and Russia’s attack of Ukraine was bound to damage world supplies.
