A Witchdoctor found himself on the wrong side of the Law after conning an unsuspecting father pretending he would heal his Epileptic Nephew.
Keneth Nkolwa, the witchdoctor was today arraigned in a Nairobi Court facing charges of cheating contrary to section 315 of the Penal Code.
According to the prosecution, the witchdoctor on diverse dates between May 29 and July 28, 2023, at Stima Plaza Ngara in Westlands, Nairobi, presented himself to Deka Said Omar, an uncle to an Epileptic child.
The witchdoctor according to the Court records told Mr. Omar that he had to part with Ksh 1.3 million in order for his nephew to be healed.
The witchdoctor told Mr. Omar that he had a long history and experience of healing people suffering from incurable diseases and that he would use magic to heal the boy.
“On the diverse dates between 29th May 2023 and 28th July 2023 at Stima Plaza Ngara in Westlands Sub County within Nairobi County, jointly with others not before court by means of fraudulent tricks being a witchdoctor, you induced Deka Said Omar to pay One million three hundred shillings by falsely pretending that you were in a position to treat and heal an Epileptic condition of a nephew to the said Deka Said Omar through magic heal a fact you knew to be false,” read the court papers.
Appearing before Milimani Law Courts Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina, the accused denied the charges, however, the prosecution opposed his release on cash bail or bond pleading with the court to ask for a pre-bail report before granting bail.
