It is now official: Wolverhampton, beaten by Leeds (3-0), have been relegated to the English second division.
On Monday night, West Ham’s draw at Crystal Palace (0-0) sealed the Wolves’ fate.
They are mathematically doomed with five matches left in the season after a failed campaign.
Particularly fragile in defense (61 goals conceded) and not clinical enough, the Molineux Stadium side have missed the mark this season.
By mid-December, they had picked up only two measly points, already all but sealing their fate for the end of the season.
Despite a slight revival at the start of 2026 under Rob Edwards, including a run of five matches unbeaten, the miracle never happened.
After eight consecutive seasons in the PL, Wolverhampton are going down to the division below.
