A middle-aged woman has been charged at Milimani law courts with the offence of conspiring to commit murder.
Winfred Wandia Kisau was charged before the Milimani chief magistrate Susan Shitubi with conspiring to kill a businessman Antony Maina Mutahi.
The court heard that on diverse dates between July , and August 1, 2024, at unknown place within the republic of Kenya jointly with others who were not in court conspired to kill Mutahi.
Preliminary Investigations indicated that Mutahi embroiled in a court battle with another woman called Rosemary Muathe over a property she had leased and the same was transferred to Mutahi thus the reason she wanted him eliminated.
Wandia introduced Marvin Omondi Abisalom to Rosemary intending him to be given the contract of executing the businessman.
Rosemary and Wandia agreed to give Sh 1 million for execution and thereafter a token of Sh 20 million for appreciation which would be given after the execution of Mutahi.
On July 28, 2024, Omondi reached out to Mutahi and informed him of a hatched plan to eliminate him.
“On the following day, the two agreed to meet at Central Police Station where Marvin narrated on the plans,” Investigating officer earlier told the court.
He was further interrogated and thereafter he reported the planned execution of Mutahi code OB/139/07/2024.
Wandia denied the charges levelled against her by the prosecution.
In her brief ruling, the magistrate released her on a bond of Sh 1 million with a surety of siimilar amount or alternative cash bail of Sh 300,000 with contact person.
