A woman charged with creating a disturbance at NCBA bank in Nairobi claims that officers at the said bank treated her fraudulently.

Ann Mutave Kioko is accused of creating a disturbance in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace contrary to the Law.

According to the prosecution, on April 19, 2022, Miss Kioko walked to the said bank to initiate some transactions.

It is during this transaction that some slight misunderstanding occurred between her and staff members.

She ended up shouting at the staff members insulting them and hurling unprintables.

Appearing before Magistrate Micheni Wendy of Milimani Law courts, the accused denied particulars of the charge.

However, according to her, she approached the bank intending to withdraw some Euros when the staff members gave her two different rates which according to her sounded awkward.

She questioned the teller staff but no reasonable answer was given to her. She asked to be directed to the bank manager who also failed to give her a substantive response.

The court found it wise to direct for some out-of-court settlement and directed the Investigation officer to conduct more investigations.

She was was released on a reasonable cash bail of Ksh 5,000.
