Police in Vihiga have arrested a female suspect and seized 15 bundles of cannabis sativa (bhang) following a targeted anti-narcotics operation.
The operation, conducted on August 18 by officers from Mbale Police Station, took place in the Mbihi area. The suspect was intercepted along Mbihi Road while carrying the drugs concealed in a bag. She was immediately taken into custody and is set to be arraigned in court.
Authorities say the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to combat the trafficking and abuse of narcotics in the region. The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying such operations nationwide, warning that those involved in the illegal trade will face the full force of the law.
