A Somali National has been charged with forging a marriage certificate to gain entry to the Kenyan territory.

Anisa Abdullahi Sayid is said to have walked into the immigration headquarters in Nairobi on March 13, 2015 armed with a fake marriage certificate in support of an application to have her stay in Kenya legalized on a permanent basis.

Miss Sayid is believed to have approached the immigration department with a narrative that she is legally married to a Kenyan, a narrative which could have seen her registered as a Kenyan citizen pursuant to the Kenyan Laws.

She is also charged with misleading an immigration officer by indicating in her Kenya dependant’s application form that she is married to a Kenyan namely Abdiaziz Yusuf Adbi, a fact she knew to be false.

Further, she is accused of making a false declaration in her Kenya dependant’s pass by declaring under oath that she was married to a Kenyan.

Appearing before Magistrate Susan Shitubi of Milimani Law Courts, miss Sayid denied the charges and was released on a Bond of Ksh 1 Million.
