Woman Sues Lover For Boycotting A Date

An American woman has filed a lawsuit against a man who did not show up for their planned date in 2020, claiming that he purposefully caused her emotional distress.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, QaShontae Short claimed Richard Jordan “did not show and left on her mother’s birthday and her mother had just passed away.”

Short now demands that Jordan pay her USD 10,000 (Ksh.1, 186,200), claiming that he harmed her by failing to appear at the tournament.

The two appeared virtually before Judge Herman Marable Jr in Flint, Michigan, in a session that quickly devolved into chaos.

“That’s not something that can be litigated in district court.” Judge Marable Jr ruled that “that must be brought in circuit court.”

Jordan asks the judge to dismiss the case, claiming that he only went on one date with Short before calling it quits.

Short then claims Jordan committed perjury by lying to her about showing up for the date only to stand her up. Judge Marable corrects her, saying, “No, perjury is a false statement made under oath.”

Short and the judge then exchange long-winded back-and-forth before he mutes the Zoom call and transfers the case to the circuit court.
