Woman detained for allegedly hiring hitman to kill her friend’s business partner

A Nairobi court has ordered police attached to DCI to hold a middle-aged woman who allegedly contracted a hitman to execute her friend’s business partner.

According to court papers presented before court, Winfred Wandia Kisau jointly with Rosemary Muathe conspired to contract Marvin Omondi Abisalom to kill Antony Maina Mutahi

It was police assertion that it was Wandia who introduced Rosemary to Abisalom.

The court papers presented before presiding magistrate Hon. Bernard Ochoi reveals Wandia,Rosemary, and Abisalom held several meetings within and outskirts of Nairobi town to harmonise an elaborate plan to execute Maina.

The court heard that Rosemary was embroiled in court battle over a property she had leased to Maina, thus the reason she wanted to eliminate him.

The police further stated that Wandia and Rosemary agreed to give Abisalom ksh 1 million for execution Maina and thereafter a token of appreciation Ksh. 20 million would be given to Wandia.

The court heard that the hefty promised was a bait to have secure services of Abisalom, which was solely to execute Maina.

In sharp twist of events, on 28th July 2024, Abisalom reached out to Mutahi and confided to him of the plans to eliminate him.

The two agreed to meet at Nairobi Central Police Station, where Abisalom narrated plans before police boss.

The police recorded the statement vide an OB134/29/07/2024.

The investigators added that during the arrest, Wandia uninstalled her WhatsApp account to conceal the evidence, but they managed to confiscate the phone and forward it to cyber forensic examination to retrieve deleted messages.
