A middle-aged woman was arraigned in court for allegations of illegal firearm possession.
Stella Waithera Kahigi was charged at Milimani law courts with possession of a pistol without a firearm certificate contrary to the law.
According to the charge sheet, miss Kahigi was intercepted by police officers at Laxman apartment in Loresho on April 9th, 2022.
Police officers uncovered a Daisy pistol with serial number 9002098 during their search, but the accused was unable to present a valid firearm certificate, leading the officers to question her purpose given that she was found with the weapon in a recreational facility.
Nevertheless, miss Kahigi denied particulars of the allegations before chief magistrate Wendy Micheni of Milimani law courts and she was released on a bond of Ksh 200,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 800,000.
The case will be mentioned on the 25th of April for a pre-trial.
