Four Chinese Nationals accused of assault and causing actual bodily harm will remain in custody for three more days pending a ruling on their bail application.
This ruling was made today at Milimani law courts.
The prosecution asked the court to detain the suspects for 21 more days as the investigation continue.
The defense strongly opposed the application for 21 days citing that the accusation was not strong enough to warrant such a long investigation period.
Deng Hailain was arrested after a video went viral on the social media of him captured assaulting a Kenyan employee at a Chinese restaurant in Kileleshwa.
The video attracted heated reactions from Kenyans. Chang Yuepieng and OU Qiang were also arrested for holding expired Visas while Yu Ling arrested for holding a visitor’s Visa but without a work permit.
The court will rule on whether to grant the prosecution’s request on Thursday.
