The pact is part of a broader roadmap by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to eliminate the culture of violence that has historically marred Kenyan elections.

Officials have warned that youth are often manipulated through history, emotion, and grievances to incite chaos. The agencies emphasized that election violence damages Kenya’s image, discourages investment, and directly increases youth unemployment by destroying livelihoods.

Alongside these youth-centric pacts, the NCIC is also introducing a “wall of shame” to name and shame politicians who defy national values and codes of conduct.
