YY Comedian Finally Speaks About Ex-Partner Marya Okoth’s Wedding

Popular comedian YY Comedian, known for his witty observations, has broken his silence regarding the recent marriage of his ex-partner, actress Marya Okoth.

Days after reports circulated that Marya had tied the knot in a traditional ceremony with a flamboyant lawyer, YY addressed the news during an interview with Milele FM’s Ankali Ray.

Marya Okoth, who was previously in a high-profile relationship with YY Comedian, is now confirmed to have “left the market”.

The news of her marriage to a lawyer has captivated many, especially those who followed her past relationship with the comedian.

The interviewer, Ankali Ray, directly confronted YY about his feelings on his “ex” moving on.

Responding to the news, YY acknowledged that he was aware of his ex’s marriage. He quickly steered the conversation away from sensationalism, emphasising that it is natural for people to move on.

“Let me ask, you guys, mean people can’t have their day to enjoy without being talked about? Every person getting married today is someone ex,” he stated emphatically.

He believes that couples should be allowed to enjoy their special day without external interference or negative energy.

“So, can we just let people enjoy their day without people mixing with the negative energy. Why would they want to bring in other people who are not involved? These are two people who are in love, they had a beautiful moment for themselves. Can we just let them enjoy their moment,” he added.

Perhaps the most poignant aspect of YY’s response was his focus on their shared child. YY revealed that Marya Okoth is the mother of his child. He explained that her happiness directly impacts their daughter’s well-being.

“Any happiness towards her reflects on my child. So, I would not want the mother of my child to have a miserable life, because the moment she’s miserable, this thing is going to trickle down to my daughter. If she finds happiness, so be it. Who cares,” he shared

YY also used the platform to advocate for greater respect and privacy for public figures, highlighting that they are ultimately human beings with feelings.

He urged people to allow others to enjoy their moments of happiness without gossip or speculation.

He warned against digging into past relationships, noting that false rumours, such as previous claims of him and Marya reconciling, can create insecurity and even “shake a person’s marriage”.
