A third-year student at Zetech University has been arraigned in Milimani law courts for allegedly being found in possession of exam materials relating to KCPE and KCSE exams.

Oscar Brighton alias Jangoo, an Economics student, was nabbed by undercover detectives attached to the monitoring and surveillance unit of the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

At the time of the arrest, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the suspect was in possession of fake examination papers while others were stored in his mobile phone in soft copy.

Oscar is also being charged for exam malpractices where he and others not before the court jointly disclosed the contents of examination papers or materials to another person through a mobile phone without lawful authority or excuse.

Appearing before Milimani Chief Magistrate Micheni Wendy, Oscar pleaded not guilty and was released on a bond of Ksh 1,000,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 500,000.

The case is set to proceed on March 28, 2022.
